it remind me of the hybrids of DSisney's Gargoyles. The naatural Gars were stone in the day and grey/green/etc skined at night eventually though Xanatos mad human hybrids with batwings, and things liek pather dna.
I agree with LLX as to what these intrepretations remind me of :3. And looks like while this one is lion-inspired, the other is unicorn-inspired, a la the old nursery rhyme :3
