Transfur Content Policy

Transfur's content policy is designed to allow Transfur to stay focused on showcasing the best transformation artwork the Internet has to offer.

The following guidelines were used when determining the rules:

1. To remain focused on showcasing transformation-related artwork.
2. To promote creativity and originality in artwork posted to Transfur.
3. To protect copyrights.
4. To respect other people’s personal privacy.
5. To uphold the laws of the country Transfur is hosted in.

Artwork must involve transformations

To help keep the site specialized in nature, we has chosen to require all posted artwork to directly include themes involving animal, plant, mythological creature, and anthropomorphic transformations. Anthropomorphic ("furry") transformations do not necessarially need to be about a transformation from human into a furry form.

We respectfully ask to refrain from posting images that do not directly show a transformation.

Examples of acceptable images:

• Humans transforming into anthropomorphic or animal forms.
• Transformations into centaurs, mermaids, or other mythological creatures.
• Furries transforming into 'Taur' forms.
• Humans or furries into plants, trees, fruits, or vegetables.
• Anthropomorphic characters changing gender.
• Animal transformations involving a gender change.
• Images of that include an implied transformation, such as a shocked person examining his or herself after being changed.
• ... and many more. Be creative!

Examples of unacceptable images:

• Normal furry art that does not include a transformation theme.
• Humans transforming into inanimate objects that are not animal or furry in nature.
• Humans changing gender.
• Mutant transformations.
• Alien transformations.
• Tentacle transformations.
• Elf, dwarf, and hobbit transformations.
• Fairies. (except for fairies that have animal characteristics or are anthropomorphic in nature)

Artwork must be above a certain skill level

All images posted to the site are expected to be above a minimum skill level. Images that do not show a basic knowledge of anatomy and artistic skills will be removed or moved to the sketch/scrap area.

Transfur staff will aim to notify artists when their art is moved or removed. However, due to time constraints and the fact many E-Mail addresses change over time, we cannot always contact artists before removing their images.

Our aim is not to discourage artists but to uphold a higher standard for the content posted to the gallery. Many other galleries on the Internet do not have the content restrictions Transfur has. We would rather keep Transfur unique and interesting, rather than slowly becoming the same as every other furry or fantasty gallery.

In the event your image is removed or your artist account submission is denied due to quality or skill level, we encourage you to continue working on your art and staying involved with the transformation community. Please send us a message with the address of your website or other galleries and we will link to it so our visitors can enjoy your artwork.

No obscene material

Although Transfur goes to great lengths to implement user-customizable content filtering technology and ratings systems, many children use Transfur's services. It is not technically feasable to completely lock out children from using the site or accessing adult material on it because we are a freely accessible site and do not perform credit card processing.

Because it is possible that some under-age children may abuse the content filters and access areas of the site they may not be permitted to view, we have chosen to disallow all obscene material for both ethical and legal reasons.

Transfur's website is compatible with many major P.I.C.S. compatible content filtering systems and we encourage parents, guardians, schools, and other institutions to implement technologies to ensure underage persons to not gain access to material they should not view.

Examples of un-acceptable material:

• Sexual assault, rape, or sexual violence.
• Visible sexual fluids.
• Sexual relations between a human and a non-sentient animal.
• People or creatures giving birth (including egg-laying).
• Excretory functions.
• Sadomasochistic abuse.
• Incest.
• Mis-proportioned genitals.
• ‘Vore’ artwork.
• Disgustingly obese creatures.
• Anything remotely sexual or nude involving anything that even remotely resembles someone under the age of 19.

Restrictions are not limited to the examples listed above. Material deemed obscene, offensive, or unethical by Transfur staff are subject to deletion without notice.

Any user who posts material that falls within this category may be suspended or banned from using Transfur's website or services in the future.

No violent or hate related material

It is Transfur's wish to provide a website free of all violent and hate related content. Any images, websites, or forum postings including content such as excessive blood and/or guts, bad language, prejudice, discrimination, or hate will be immediately removed without notice.

Any user who posts material that falls within this category may be suspended or banned from using Transfur's website or services in the future.

Artwork must be original

Transfur is committed to protecting the copyrights of artists. We encourage all artists to draw unique, creative works of art that are not copied from other people's images or characters.

• No copying or tracing another person's work.
• No "fan" art or artwork based on copyrighted characters without permission.
• No artwork based on real-life people without permission.

Artwork must be presented in an acceptable manner

It is expected that all artists posting material to the image gallery prepare their images in an acceptable manner for public viewing.

• Posted artwork must have no unintended artifacts from source media (such as napkins, lined paper, hole punches).
• Artwork must be scanned or drawn digitally. Photographs of artwork are not permitted.
• Artwork may not have branding that visually interferes with the presentation of the image. (For example, large translucent text saying “Copyright to Joe User” across the middle of the image is not permitted. However, adequately sized copyright text at the edges of the image would be acceptable).
• Sketches are permitted as long as they are marked as a sketch so they can be placed into an appropriate area.
• Scans should be cleaned up and color corrected whenever possible. (For example, use the histogram and 'levels' tool in Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro to remove artifacts caused from eraser marks or the paper itself)
