Mariane works as a barmaid at the local bar/inn. After she closes up the bar that night she's attacked by a hulking beast. She stabs it in the eyes with a knife she carries for protection, but gets wounded. Later she feels strange, and then a surge of pain when her feet begin to change, the bones breaking and reforming... and then the base of her spine... The tail bone reforms, and soon she's grown a few more bones before a long tail swings out behind her.
